on this page, you will find some of the more expensive
harps that I use......while I haven't yet (Y ou're E ligible T oo)
made the jump to ethereal world of 'customized' harps, and have yet to cross
over that magic $100.00
barrier - yes that means there are harps out there that cost MORE than a
HUNDRED bucks -
but here are a few that I use that are not quite that expensive.....
The first one is the Suzuki FIREBREATH, which is
the Black harp on the right in Photos 1-3. It costs about $70.00
and has a rosewood comb. It plays great, and is airtight, and has a great
sound......it is probably my favorite harp
at the present moment......next to it, is it's cheaper cousin, the Suzuki
PROMASTER, which is the Silver harp on the left in
Photos 1-3.....it goes for about $40.00 and is also quite responsive and
easy to play. It has an Aluminum comb......These ProMasters are a great
first step up for Intermediate or advanced beginners who want to try something
different and get the feel of a nicer instrument.......

Next up we have two harmonicas from SEYDEL.......again,
these harps are a GREAT deal for the money.....on the left in photos 4 and
5
is the SEYDEL BLUES SOLOIST PRO which costs about 40 dollars, and
has a wooden comb. It plays extremely well, is airtight, and has a great
sound.....
the other harp in photos 4 and 5 is the SEYDEL BLUES FAVORITE STANDARD,
which has an Aluminum comb, and costs about 55 dollars.
This is also one of my favorite harps...it has a great sound, and is really
easy to play, very responsive and easy to bend. ......both of these harps
are great choices if you want to upgrade from the beginner harps..........and
both have coverplates that are wider than normal in the back........
some people feel this makes them louder......

Photos 6 and 7 are of the new HOHNER MARINE BAND
DELUXE. This harp has a wooden comb and costs about 50 dollars. It's
based on the
standard Marine Band, but the comb is sealed and it is a LOT easier to play,
mainly because it is very air tight.....Hohner spent a lot of time
on this harp to try and restore the Marine Band to it's older quality........Like
the Seydels, it has a nice wide back on it, which is the way they
used to make them in the 'good old days'......

and last but not least, the trusty, but not rusty, LEE
OSKAR.....I have been using Lee Oskars for many years. In fact, I would
say it's probably the harp I have used the most, and it's another excellent
harp for
the money. I highly recommend these for advanced beginners or even beginners
who want to explore a better quality instrument.........these have a plastic
comb and cost around $25-$30 dollars......and come in Low F(pictured here
and High G, as well as other special tunings like Minor and Country.....
